Anxiety attacks can be prolonged and last all day, or they can hit quickly and be paralyzing. Understanding why an anxiety attack is occurring is the first step in understanding anxiety at an individual level. Everyone has anxiety for different reasons, so there is no miracle cure or regimented technique for dispelling anxiety. Understanding that anxiety does not mean death or even that, that anxiety will last forever. Anxiety is the bodies way of natural alerting people that something is wrong. If that trigger is over sensitive and triggers itself often, then there are several ways to calm the nerves quell the anxiety. Here are a few.

1. Breathing- People who have anxiety often breath in abnormal patterns. By slowing down breathing and taking equal, long, breaths in and out through the stomach and not the chest, anxiety and can be calmed quite easily. Breathing through the chest does not allow the body to take in clean air and expell the used air. This can cause anxiety, so by breathing correctly anxiety can be calmed.
2. Yoga- Yoga is an exercise that can be done easily at home or by going to a gym or yoga house. The goal of Yoga is to control breathing and calm the body through strenuous, exaggerated poses that emphasize strength, flexibility and calmness. Yoga is also a good way to clear the mind, which often is the occurrence when an anxiety attack happens. A quick half hour yoga workout can greatly reduce anxiety.
3. Fun Activities- Another great way to great rid of anxiety is to go have fun. By working stress out of the bones and muscles, and having a laugh, the mind can be cleared or distracted so as to not be worrying about what’s on the mind.
Anxiety is the bodies reaction to stress and the best way to calm it is to realign the body and mind.
